With the guidance of Chinese and Japanese experts or professors , we have successfully produced the products of Isomalto-oligosaccharide IMO500 and IMO900 which offer a higher quality standard than that of the same kind of products in the world.

Isomaltooligasaccharide is derived from refined corn starch. It consists of 2-10 anhydro-glucose units with alpha-1,6- glucosidic linkages. Now it is known as a new kind of the popular functional sugar resources because it is hard to be digested in the stomach or intestine of human body. So it is usually be called no digestive sugar.

The function of Isomaltooligasaccharide:

1. Stimulating the growth of Bifidobacterium.
IMO is hardly digested and absorbed in human gastrointestine tract. It can be used as a favorable growth factor for bifidobacterium. The flourishing intestinal colonies of this beneficial bacteria help to alter the intestinal microflora balance,inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria. So,it is usually called bifidofactor.
1.1. To keep the balance growth of friendly bacteria in intestine,inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria,promote digestion. It is helpful for people especially for the elders and babies to prevent diseases such as constipation,diarrhea and intestine disorder.
1.2. Anticancer activity.
1.3. Involving in the production of vitamin B1,B2,B6,K,nicotinic acid,folic acid and some amino acids etc. It also can improve the absorption of calcium.
1.4. To exert a beneficial effect on cholesterol level and prevent hypertension.
1.5. To improve the digestion of milk products,beneficial to the lactose-intolerant people. Many foreign dairy foods add the bifidofactor for their healthy purpose.
1.6. To enhance immune function and prevent side effect caused by antibiotics.

2. Anti-cariogenicity IMO is usually not an fermentable carbohydrate for oral bacteria.
Furthermore,it is hard to form insoluble polysaccharides with sucrose on the surface of tooth,which is not favorably support the bacteria to grow on tooth and lessens the risk of tooth demineralization. So,it has the function of tooth-decay prevention in the food containing sucrose.

3. Low fermentability
IMO is hardly metabolized by yeast and lactobacillus. It is one kind of additives with low calories and helps prevent weight gain.

4. The product IMO900 contains more than 45% isomaltose,pentose,isomaltose and maltotriose. More than 90% of total carbohydrates is low fermentable. It is a healthier food additive than IMO500 and fits for diabetic food that cannot cause the increase of blood sugar and can balance the insulin concentration.

Application of isomaltooligasaccharide:
1. In food industry
1.1. Dairy foods
Infant milk powder: After the period of breast-feeding,the babies are easy to get diarrhea,constipation,digestive disorder and other diseases because of the lack of dominance of bifidobacteria in their intestines. In order to regain their health, bifidofactor should be added to regulate the Intestinal microflora. Infant milk powder containing IMO as a substitute of sucrose are produced through Atomization and Spray technology.
Adult milk powder: Milk powder containing IMO is favorable to simulate the growth of bifidobacteria in elders' intestinal tract,which improves the gastroenteric function and enhance the immune ability.
Active cultured milk: Add IMO to fresh milk and then to produce active youhourt by the fermentation of bifidobateria and lactobacillus. IMO plays a key role in maintaining the abundance of bifidobateria. The functional soybean milk can also be produced if IMO is mixed with the milk.

1.2. Functional fruit juice: A new type of healthy fruit juice can be made from many natural fruit resources such as pear in Hebei,goosebeery in Sha a nxi,coconut in Hainan,guava in Guangdong,mango in Gangxi,apple in Shandong,greengage and waxberry in Jiansu and orange in Zhejiang etc. IMO is more heat-resistant and acid- resistant and less hygroscopicity than sucrose. Its viscidity is similar to sucros. So it can be wholly or partly used as a substitute of sucrose in the products without changing the processing technique. The products containing bifidofactor are known as functional foods.

1.3,Honey syrup,made of honey and IMO ( the proportion of honey to IMO is 1:3) , i s refined to form a good product that has the function of proventing constipation,adjusting microflora and improving intestine ability.

1.4. A health medicine is scientifically produced by combining IMO and local medicinal herbs such as Hawkthorn,Yam,Black Sesame. It has a special good function for intestine movement and digestion. When added with Snow Lotus from Xinjiang,Aweto from Qinghai and many mushrooms,the product can gain more effective function and better taste.

1.5. Confection products containing IMO can not cause cariogenicity and weight gain.
1.5.1 A higher grade confection is produced by combining appropriate amount of IMO with condensed milk,cream,glutin and spices , and the content of IMO in each candy is more than 2 grams . This product with low calorie has the function to resist carious tooth and intestime disorder.
1.5.2 A Smooth,chewy candy can be made with IMO, condensed milk, ,cream or emulsifiers and flavoring. It also has the function to resist carious tooth and intestime disorder.
1.5.3 Bubble gum ,chewing gum and health candy are produced by combining appropriate amount of IMO syrup and power with glutin and flavoring. This product with low calorie has the function to resist carlous tooth and intestime disorder.

2. In wine-making industry
The use of IMO in wine-making can improve the quality and taste of wine product. During fermentation process glucose and maltose are converted to alcohol by yeast,but isomaltose,panose,isomaltotriose,isomaltotetrose remain in the products because of its low fermentability These low fermentable carbohydrates add flavour and bio-function to wines .

3. In torrefied foods industry
Bread and cake can gain some super flavor and function by adding IMO because of its hygroscopicity,low sweat taste and low fermentability. Cakes become more crisp and soft and Bread is more elastic and delicious. These products are easy to keep freshness and longer shelf life. It can decrease the crystallizability,lumping,deterioration,and sweet taste in sweetened bean paste and the lotus seed paste , and is good for health .

4. In feed industry
IMO is used in feeding domestic animals,fowl and aquatic products as a substitute of live microorganism preperation. It has the effect of stimulating growth and health protection. Pigs were fed with 0.25% IMO for 21 days. The results compared with the control group showed that the daily we i ghts increased 7%,and the feed efficiency improved to 14%. Chicken's survival rate, we ight gain and feed efficiency improved when Chickens were fed with 0.2% IMO.
